Name: Tora Venaris
Sith Name: Darth Kairos
Age: 27
Species: Human
Homeworld: Alderaan
Gender: Male
Height: 1.80m
Weight: 88kg
Eyes: Cybernetic green; naturally green.
Hair: Dirty blonde
Skin Color: Caucasian
Appearance:
Kairos is a fairly typical human male, with dirty blonde hair kept cut reasonably short and, typically, a faint shadow of a beard kept trimmed down. Physically, he is fairly unremarkable - while tall, he is far from muscular, instead possessing a duelists's physique with little fat, but only minor muscle definition. He makes up for this with sure-footedness and a confidence of bearing that makes him seem far taller and more impressive than he truly is.
This is compounded by decidedly handsome physical features, with a sharp jawline and well-defined cheekbones. However, this is marred by several scars on his face, as well as on his limbs and torso that is usually kept covered. The most noteworthy of these is a distinctive spiderweb pattern of scars that covers the area around his left eye, as if something had been forcibly jammed or drilled into his skull. When trying to keep a low profile, he usually covers this by various means such as sunglasses, a hood, or even makeup. The other most distinctive feature is his frequent use of a blindfold, which can lead to him being mistaken for a Miraluka. After being blinded by the First Order he learned to see through the Force, and began wearing a blindfold to cover his damaged eyes. Eventually he regained his eyesight through cybernetics implants which give his eyes a faintly perceptible green glow, but often wears the blindfold to see through the Force regardless.
When not wearing Brotherhood robes, he usually dresses in his military uniform, an armoured battlecoat representing his station. In public he wears an inausipcious array of casual tunics and coats.
Personality:
Cocksure to the occasional point of arrogance, Kairos is supremely confident in his abilities, and for good reason. Once an aimless spacer, he is now a highly direct and ruthless commander and equally dominating warrior on the battlefield. Despite his accomplishments and intense officer training, Kairos still retains many of his old casual spacer traits, and is never one to stand on ceremony. Kairos uses his station's authority very rarely when not actively commanding or serving the Brotherhood in an 'official' capacity. Moderately ambitious but largely content with his positions, he is daring and often careless with his own life, throwing himself into dangerous situations wholly convinced he will emerge fine on the other side.
Kairos is extremely personable and easy to make friends with. Given this it's surprising how short-tempered he can be, especially when others disagree in areas he considers himself to be an expert. He is loyal to the Sith cause, but lacks the devotion of many of his peers - to him, the Brotherhood was a chance at a new lease on life, but he doesn't share in its dogmatic fervour. He generally cares little for the New Republic and the Jedi, viewing them as opponents rather than hated enemies, but utterly despises the First Order and is driven to destroy them. His motives are personal - the execution of his mother, later followed by his torture and blinding at their hands, is sufficient motivation for him.
Though often short-tempered and irritable, Kairos rarely gives into rage and maintains a level of icy composure even when he is internally seething. The one guaranteed exception is the sight of a First Order laser axe - Kairos zeroes in on them in a red haze and will cut his way through anything to kill the wielder.
The desire for revenge eating away at him is the source of much of his ruthlessness, and when pushed sufficiently adopts the persona of an arbitrator; so confident is he in his abilities and decisions that he will appoint himself judge, jury, and executioner without hesitation. But the three lines he will never cross are cold-blooded murder, exploitation of another being, and above all knowingly harming a child.

Backstory:
Tora Venaris was off-world with his mother Melle when Alderaan was destroyed by the Death Star. With her remaining family and husband vaporised in an instead, Melle's first desire was to join the Rebel Alliance for revenge against the Empire - but Tora came first, and she did her best to raise him in a galaxy at war as a newfound refugee. The two became vagabond spacers, and Tora was raised on spaceships rarely seeing planets beyond their spaceports. Melle eked out a living for them working on passenger liners, but the harsh conditions made them eventually sign on with freighter crews for better pay. With that pay she was able to support her son, and Tora grew up healthy with something approaching an education. As he matured, he quickly needed, and learned, to pull his weight, and began helping out on the freighters wherever he could.
Eventually, they signed on with the crew of the Manifest Horizon, and found a new home. The new freighter dabbled in smuggling more often than Melle cared for, but the money was too good to pass up, and finally Tora received a decent (if abbreviated) education and developed incredibly quickly. Melle, too, became an integral part of the crew, and eventually became the ship's captain. When he was old enough Tora became the ship's co-pilot, and the mother-son team proved a fantastically capable duo, evading Remnant and New Republic patrols alike and carting valuable cargo across the galaxy's backlanes.
Those halcyon days did not last. The Manifest Horizon was in the middle of a smuggling run to deliver supplies to Remnant-controlled territory when they were intercepted by the Star Destroyer Gorgon. Its commander, the recently-emerged Admiral Daala, was keen to set an example of her Imperial leadership, and commanded that the crew be executed for smuggling. Desperate to prevent this, Melle declared that she had been solely responsible for the smuggling operation and claimed the crew was innocent - in response to which, Daala had her immediately executed, right in front of Tora's eyes.
The remainder of the crew was shuttled down to a nearby planet for indefinite processing and probable execution. There Tora languished for weeks, his grief turning into despair before curdling into anger, and then something stronger still. He manifested his latent power in the Force for the first time, and with it broke out of the holding cells along with the remainder of the crew and stole a shuttle, using it to escape. Once off-world, Tora turned the crew free in New Republic space and ditched the shuttle, drowning himself in alcohol as he tried to cope with his loss.
When he emerged from the dark hostel room after nearly a fortnight, he was a changed man resolute in his goal. First, he signed on with an anti-Imperial mercenary company, using the chance to test his newfound abilities and learn how to fight. With his natural charisma and manifesting Force Powers helping him, it didn't take long before he was leading others in the outfit. It was a small group, only several hundred strong, and it didn't take him long to find himself more-or-less in charge. Then, he used his new resources to find resources and planets associated with Admiral Daala, approaching anti-Imperial factions and persuading them to hire the group and using the opportunity to build up new wealth and manpower while honing his own leadership abilities. Discovering himself to be a naturally gifted tactician and capable commander, Tora swelled the power of the outfit and renamed them Halcyon Private Defence Services. In time, Halcyon began to resemble less of a mercenary outfit and more of a personal army.
Tora's private war against Daala continued even as the New Republic's proceeded as well. In time, her power was broken, and Daala temporarily vanished from public view. Confident she would return, Tora began marshalling his strength and began an incredible build-up of Halcyon's resources, acquiring a number of armed escorts and freighters along with several squadrons of starfighters as well as an impressive intelligence network that made heavy use of the Smuggler's Alliance. He knew that his current strength wouldn't be enough to challenge Daala even if she possessed only one Star Destroyer, and began a search for a trump card using old Imperial channels and resources he had unearthed. He found it in the Black-15 shipyards.
Black-15 was a shipyard facility located just inside the Deep Core that old Imperial records indicated had held a sizeable contingent of warships shortly before a slave revolt just after the Battle of Endor removed Imperial control of the system. Learning of its location above N'Zoth, Tora dispatched several scouts to stealthily recon the system, discovering that the Imperial forces were under the control of the native Yevetha and that their crown jewel was the Intimidator, a Super Star Destroyer they had captured and dubbed the Pride of Yevetha. Through the recovered databanks of a crashed shuttle, Tora learned about the violent Yevetha and the presence of hundreds of thousands of Imperial slaves still held in the system to work on the shipyards. In turn, Tora managed to make contact with these slaves personally, and learned the whole truth about the Yevetha - their violently xenophobic ways, their purges of non-Yevethans and planned purge of the entire sector and, most importantly, the slave circuits the Imperials had just finished installing into the Yevethan-Imperial war fleet. Through them he also gained access to old Imperial files on the Yevetha - their history, psychology, and their leaders. Armed with all of this information, Tora hatched a plan.
The Yevetha's cruelty and xenophobia made them not only genocidally oppressive towards other races - it also made them incapable of realising the threat that other races could pose. They never suspected that somebody else could not only learn of them and their resources, but be intelligent and bold enough to attack them in the heart of their power. They never saw Tora's attack coming. First, Halcyon starfighters emerged from hyperspace and strafed the shipyards above N'Zoth, destroying or disabling scores of warships in the first blow. Next, Halcyon's armed freighters emerged and used their weaponry to target ground-based hangars and installations, destroying many of them before they could mount a response. The Imperial vessels, meanwhile, went dead as the slave circuits disabled their systems on command, including the Pride of Yevetha, and the Imperials - armed with weapons by Halcyon - launched an all-out revolt. In the midst of the chaos, Tora boarded the Pride of Yevetha and stormed the vessel with his most elite troops, reaching the bridge and personally killing the Yevethan Vicerory Nil Spaar in single combat.
The Yevethan forces annihilated and the Pride of Yevetha under his control, Tora took complete control of the vessel. As per an agreement with Sil Sorannan, the highest ranking Imperial, most of the Imperial vessels went to Imperial control and jumped further into the Deep Core to join with other Remnant forces. Tora's part of the agreement had been that the Intimidator would remain under his control, but when Sorannan went back on his word by disabling the ship with its slave circuits and attempting to seize control another long and bloody battle ensued. When it was finally all over, the Intimidator was definitively under Tora's control. Using his forces to completely annihilate all Yevethan opposition, Tora began bringing in more personnel to operate the titanic vessel. At long last, he had a weapon he could wield against Admiral Daala.
That left the problem of the Yevetha.
The slaves' testimony, Imperial reports, chatter from the planets and other prisoners held aboard the Intimidator, and the brutally cruel facilities Tora had seen while storming the vessel made the Yevetha's nature clear. Their genocidal plans had been checked, but so long as the Yevetha remained they would simply build again. And so Tora made the decision to purge the Yevetha from the face of the galaxy. With the Intimidator's incredible armament, he glassed the surface of N'Zoth and then moved on, visiting each Yevethan world and pulverising it until nothing else lived. With the Yevethan problem solved, Tora prepared to take the Intimidator out of the Deep Core. News had reached him that Admiral Daala had assembled a massive force out of the Imperial Deep Core Warlords, and he intended to go straight after her.
Before he had the chance, a man strode onto the bridge of the Intimidator. First, he killed the troopers who attempted to stop him, and then, with no effort at all, bested and disarmed Tora as easily as one might discipline an unruly child, all with his own two hands. His foot on Tora's chest, he produced a weapon that ignited a crimson-red blade into Tora's face. The weapon of a Jedi, he recognised it, but this man was clearly no Jedi.
He called himself the Red Warrior, and he was an old, old being called a Sith. His duty was to wander the galaxy every time he awoke from a long sleep, find worthy beings to join his cause, and slay any who would oppose him or lay claim to the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. With his blade at Tora's throat, he commended him for his incredible leadership and tactical acumen and offered him the choice to either join him in stasis to await a worthy Dark Lord and receive Sith training to fully realise his power, or die. Naturally, Tora chose to live. Under the Red Warrior's watchful eye, Tora disbanded Halcyon, swearing to himself that if he could not have Daala's head, he would one day destroy every trace of her legacy. Then he and the Red Warrior assembled a droid crew to maintain the Intimidator and travelled into the far fringes of the galaxy. They left the Super Star Destroyer drifting in a long-forgotten system designated MX-4039, and then to the Red Warrior's private sanctuary. There, under his watchful eyes, Tora stepped into a carbonite chamber and entered suspended animation to await the arrival of the Dark Lord.

Regia Vercet, a former Jensaarai who Kairos rescued from imprisonment on Phaeda. Their paths crossed again several times, and Regia' growing disillusion with the Jedi and Jensaarai coupled with Kairos saving her live on numerous occasions lead to Regia swearing personal loyalty to him and becoming his retainer, bodyguard, and friend.

Age: 27
Species: Zabrak
Homeworld: Iridonia
Gender: Female
Height: 1.91m
Weight: 89kg
Eyes: Red
Hair: Red
Skin Color: Dark brown with tinges of orange
Appearance: Regia is nearly always dressed in her armour, which is forged in the appearance of the Jensaarai rather than the Knights of Zakuul. The armour itself is orange with white trim and the helmet is forged in the visage of an Triz, a predator native to Iridonia. Outside of her armour Regia cuts an imposingly muscular and toned frame that matches her adroitness, and usually dresses in form-fitting bodysuits or tightly-cut tunics. A blotchy scar resembling a birthmark is splashed across her left cheek and upper neck, marring otherwise well-defined features and sharp horns. Another scar runs from just above her left eye down to the nape of her neck, while her hands have been replaced with skeletal-model cybernetics that are usually covered by gloves.
Personality: Regia has no care for the big picture and focuses on what is right in front of her, taking each day one step at a time and never looking back on her past decisions. She only dimly considers the wider galaxy, but is firm in believing that, in the wake of the Jedi and New Republic's weakness during and after the Yuuzhan Vong War, the old galaxy must be torn down and rebuilt into something better and safer. Regia takes the direct course of action and is always ready to leap into a fight, but rarely considers the wider consequences of her decisions as she is confident that the Force will work it out. Her loyalty to Kairos is that of a retainer and bodyguard, extending beyond the times he has saved her life and is built on an unshakeable foundation of mutual trust and brotherhood and lengthy-but-defining philosophical debate. She is brusque, but friendly, often-teasing and winding people up by accident and without realising. More often than not she speaks her mind, and is happy to settle a disagreement the old fashioned way.
A talented chef, Regia has always enjoyed preparing and cooking and, despite a fiery attitude in the kitchen, finds the act almost meditative. Kairos does the dishes, though.

Backstory: An Iridonian in the secretive Jensaarai, Regia was training with the New Jedi Order when the Yuuzhan Vong attacked. Like many Jedi, she went to the front lines to fight the invaders and witnessed many horrors and tragedies. When the Yuuzhan Vong forced a deal with the New Republic to hand over all Jedi, Regia rejected the notion of fleeing with the Jedi, returned to the Jensaarai, and began a guerrilla campaign against the Yuuzhan Vong deep in their territory. She was still in that territory when the First Order struck, and was finally caught by the First Order on Phaeda shortly after they conquered the planet. The First Order began interrogating her for information on the Jedi and the Jensaarai, ready to begin their own campaign of Jedi extermination, and removed her hands when she tried to fight back. After months, Regia was ready to break when Darth Kairos lead a secret Union raid against the facility she was in, finding and rescuing her along the way. Out of empathy for her situation, he let her go and helped her escape back to the New Republic.
The Galactic Concordat disgusted her, but even the Jensaarai urged her to return home for fear of the First Order's retribution. So Regia carried on her mission alone, until a second chance meeting with Darth Kairos, where he saved her life again. The two learned more about each other and Kairos tried to convince her to join him and his new Order, but Regia chose to persist in her current path. It was not until after the Obsidian Union declared itself and wide swathes of the galaxy fell into turmoil that they had their third meeting, in the midst of a massive First Order attack on the Union. Kairos saved Regia's life a third time when he helped her battle and chase off a Knight of Ren that had been hunting Regia, and when the battle was over they found a quiet spot and talked for hours. When they finished, Regia swore her life to Kairos as his friend, his bodyguard, and his retainer, as payment for the debts she owed and out of belief in his new cause. She chose not to join the Obsidian Knights, but instead trained as a Knight of Zakuul. Now she stands as his shadow, ever at his side.

Contacts & Allies: 2
Contact: The Imperial shipyards at Yaga Minor, informants at which pass on vital information about First Order fleet movements in the Outer Rim. Kairos uses this information to keep Halcyon's operations one step ahead of the First Order's movements and avoid significant conflicts, and also passes it on to the Obsidian Union.
Ally: Aluris Kaahn, a supervisor at the First Order shipyard at Yaga Minor. Kairos ensures his loyalty by supporting his wife and children in their education far away from First Order clutches.
Forces: 1
Halcyon Private Defence Services
Fleet Doctrine: Flagship
Army Doctrines: Troopers, Special Forces, Super Heavy Vehicles
Originally formed from a mercenary outfit during the Warlord era so that Kairos could pursue his vendetta against Admiral Daala, the Halcyon of its day was a powerful fighting force that succeeded in annihilating in the Yevethan War Fleet during the Black Fleet Siege. Halcyon largely disbanded after Kairos' disappearance. Following his re-emergence over a decade later, a few remaining members of Halcyon chose to rejoin him and the Halcyon of today eclipses its predecessor for military might. Its flagship is the Conviction, an Executor-class Star Dreadnought originally known as the Intimidator and captured by Darth Kairos during the Black Fleet Siege before it was left adrift in a distant star system to await his return.
Influence: 4
Kuat Drive Yards
With numerous individuals in his pocket, spies and agents all across Kuat and its shipyards, and a significant number of shares held through dummy accounts and investments, Kairos is a major controlling influence in Kuat Drive Yards and its many subsidiaries (though not Kuat-Entralla, which has since become its own private entity servicing the First Order). His primary use of this influence has been to intensify KDY military productions and have them freely sold to numerous organisations and nation-states aside from the New Republic - including the Union and many of the Disputed Systems.
Influence: 1
New Republic Officer Academy on Hosnian Prime
The training ground for elite New Republic Officers, Generals, and Admirals, Kairos uses his small amount of covert influence over the institution to monitor up-and-coming personnel, keep tabs on their strengths and weaknesses, and subtly push promising candidates towards the Union. The intelligence gained in particular helps keep him apprised of New Republic tactics and paradigms.
Influence: 1
Seraph Corporation
A major biotechnology firm, Seraph produces medical devices and equipment including cybernetics and prosthetics. Kairos' influence over the company is small but is primarily used to push for the creation of more military-focused technologies and track and control the flow of prosthetics.
Influence: 3
Zaltin Corporation
The sole remaining producer of Bacta on the planet Thyferra following the Bacta War, Kairos possesses a major - though not controlling - influence over the company and its supply of vital bacta. Zaltin's scruples make it difficult for Kairos to bend the company to his desired ends, but his primary accomplishments have been ensuring the flow of bacta to the Disputed Systems (including the Union), subtly reducing the overall supply of bacta through increased stockpiling efforts, and hampering its supply to the First Order. This also leverages a reasonable amount of influence over Zaltin's representative in the Senate, Telera deVann.
Resources: 4
A major stake in Kuat Drive Yards, held through a number of dummy accounts, as well as a significant number of smaller investments all around the Galaxy makes Kairos very wealthy indeed.
Unnatural Ability 1
Following his blindness, Kairos developed Force Sight and learned to use it with the same familiarity as a Miraluka. Even after regaining the use of his eyesight through cybernetics, he switches frequently and freely between the two ways of seeing. Kairos pays no cost for using Force Sight and can use it indefinitely, and can freely switch to using his cybernetic sight to see normally. He is immune to stunning flashes of light, such as Force Blinding or Stun, in both ways of seeing.

Regia Character Sheet Stats:
