Vaeros Kasto was a man without a home.
While it was true his family had found a place in the Obsidian Union, Dromund Kaas was no Corellia. The Kasto business empire, though not entirely toppled, needed some rebuilding.
After a long day of wandering the business district of Kaas City, Vaeros was getting tired. He had made some good connections, but he had also chased some dead ends, including the last man he'd tried to strike a deal with. The young Corellian was optimistic, but he knew inside that life was never going to be quite as easy. Or at least not the same... Little did he know how different it would become, nor how quickly.
As Vaeros waited to experience the innumerable joys of public transportation, planning to return home for the night, he noticed a figure dressed in dark clothing, face concealed. He shrugged it off, but something drew his attention back to the being. Something subtle; a nudging of his conscience. He looked back only to find that the form was standing just before him.
"Vaeros Kasto?" The voice was distinctly female, and the fact that she knew his name sent chills down Vaeros's spine. His eyes widened ever so slightly, ready to run or fight, if necessary. There was no time to consider how they might have found him in the midst of Union space. If they were there for him, he was in danger. His whole family was in danger. He froze for a mere moment.
Then she lowered her hood. Something about the woman's pinkish, humanoid face calmed Vaeros. No--not her face. Just... something about her. He sensed that he could trust her, at least not to kill him then and there. She repeated herself.
"Vaeros Kasto?" Her voice was less inquisitive and more demanding this time as she grew impatient. She shook her head as he struggled to find words. "Obviously I know it's you. I've heard that you're looking for businesses to partner with? Sell to? Trade with? Something of the like?" She paused for a moment, studying his face. "I have a proposal for you..."
