Over the planet Sarvchi, a contemplative Nirn'iluw'utthie stared out through the view port. She stared past the unusual muti-spiecied chiss world to the vast stars scape beyond. She was thinking back to the conversation she had with her brother when this assignment was first given to her.
"Don't trust them Nirn'iluw'utthie, they are said to have the same unsettling 'force' the Skywalker's Jedi and the sith have." Nirn'odvel'utthie let the galactic basic word draw foreignly out of his mouth with displeasure. There was no polite word for force sensitivity in Cheunh, as the influence of the force had been stigmatized even before the jedi and sith made contact with the chiss. "They don't need to like us just make them understand that the kilik are a threat, and our interest is in defending against the shared threat. All we need is for them to leave our technology and workers alone. Do what it takes to ensure our defences against the killik are unhampered by these primitives."
Of course what he said was preaching to the proverbial choir, Nirn'iluw'utthie understood the dangers of this force, and the ruin it brought upon Chiss. It had not ended well for any chiss who had given themselves to this mysterious power. They always ended up exiled and often brought exile onto their entire line for fear of more affected chiss among them.
"We'll be departing for Yashuvhu shorty dignitary." The simply warning tore Nirn'iluw'utthie from her thoughts jarringly as she turned to the captain.
He knew her name, but names did not carry respect, titles carried respect. The dignitary nodded to the chiss she had known for years. "Thank you captain." With that she turned from the viewport and went to her room to gather what she thought she might need when they arrived at Yashuvhu. The last diplomatic envoy had been forced to run away do to hostile behaviour, but they were just exploring. There was no pressing need to attain the Yashuvhi's cooperation, nor had the natives taken to the stars at that point. Reports now showed that hyperspace travel had begun and was increasing steadily both to and from the planet.
The yashuvhi needed to be brought around to the Chiss Ascendancy's way of thinking on foreign affairs, or who knew what kind of people might come wandering into chiss space without a second thought. It struck Nirn'iluw'utthie that this was a wild card the Chiss did not need when the kilik posed such a serious threat. She may have been sent to attain the yashuvhi's tolerance, but if she could earn the Ascendancy their allegiance it would reflect very well on her, and her family.
