Darth Exolus
Given Name: Karai Narat iv-Adas
Other Names: Kyyrzainûûrtiyradàzdt (Kittak)
Sith Title: Darth Exolus
Date of Birth: Ragday 18th, Wrath, 13 BBY Union Calendar (Age 48)
Species: Sith (R. praedatoris)
Race: Highland Kishani
Gender: Male
Height: 187cm
Weight: 94kg
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Yellow
Skin Tone: Dark Red
General Physical Description:
Typical of the average adult Sith, Karai displays the characteristic bloodred skin of his species, and the distinctive facial spurs prominent in all true-blooded members of the Sith. Standing at a little above the average height for a Sith male (due to his adolescence on lower-gravity worlds), Karai is just under six feet and two inches tall. His eyes and hair are the unremarkable norm for the Red Sith species, being a respective yellow and black. His hair is trimmed short, and he features a clean-shaven face. Above and below both eyes, are symmetrical tattooed lines, reminiscent of the Horns of Ragnos, a popular cultural design for many Sith to wear.
His chosen lightsaber forms demand both peak physical fitness, and excellent dexterity. As such, Karai's physique is well-toned, with good muscle balance in almost all areas. His weight, as a result of extreme physical conditioning, is 209lbs, or 94kg.
Keeping his wardrobe small, his chosen attires almost always serve a practical purpose. With a preference for function over form, Karai has his clothes well-fitted, with no extreme looseness, or excessive trappings. In his possession, are three identical sets of brown-black tunics, made from comfortable Zeyd-cloth, bound at the waist with a leatheris belt. In addition, he also owns two pairs of standard TIE Fighter flightsuits, and a naval officer's uniform. Rarely seen away from his person, are his favored saberstaff, and heavy blaster pistol.

Biography:
The son of Sith nobles Kyssiri Sekat iv-Adas and Varia Kallig iv-Narat, Karai was born on Korriban in 13 BBY. Kyssiri's second child, Karai grew up unaware of the existence of his half-brother; Spaga, who'd been born and spirited away years before. Both children were conceived with the intent that they would one day unite the disparaging Sith under the banner of Clan Adas once more. While Spaga was left to his adoptive family, Karai was intended to be the medium through which Kyssiri would rule, her son serving as little more than a figurehead. His father taught him Sith history, and the basic combat skills a noble Sith was expected to know by heart. His mother meanwhile, ruthlessly nurtured his potent connection to the Force, already making itself apparent at a young age.
The naive youngster found himself at odds with his parents, content to daydream about space, and worlds beyond Korriban. As such, he was placed in the care of the reformed Sorcerors of Tund, who had returned to the devastated planet Tund a year after its cataclysmic ravaging. Taken to Tund for formal training in the Force, the young Karai found their esoteric ways confusing, and frequently skipped his classes to play with other Sith children - befriending the son of a local mechanic. The mechanic - Corvus Dalatash, took Karai on as a junior apprentice, finding the lad had an affinity for starships. As he grew older, he became a fully-qualified starship mechanic, often cobbling together atmospheric craft out of spare parts, his Force Sensitivity helping him perfect his tinkering. Though not actively training in the ways of the Force, his strengthening bond with it was enough to warrant the attention of an odd alien archaeologist by the name of Suun Jul. After several visits, Suun - an Epicanthix, revealed herself to be a former Jedi Master, who had left the Jedi Order, though Corvus was wary of her intent, and found excuses for the impressionable youth to not be near her.
Noticing Karai's strong connection to the Force Suun approached him, and offered to train him as her informal Padawan. Though reluctant, Karai accepted the woman's offer, leaving Tund behind to train as a Jedi Knight. Though quite different, the two came to share similar philosophies on the Force, and of the Dark Side, forging a bond through the Force, typical of a Master and apprentice. Over time, the two grew closer, and entered a relationship together. Eventually, Suun fell pregnant, and the couple returned to her homeworld of Panatha, where Karai continued his training under her. By 22 ABY, Suun considered Karai at the level of a Jedi Knight. The two were called away to the Sith world of Khar Shian, Karai's uncle asking personally for his help. The world had fallen into a small guerrilla war, sparked by a faction of the Imperial Remnant, Karai and Suun ventured to Khar Shian to investigate. The small Remnant force were in search of an ancient Rakatan artifact buried on the frozen moon, and had kidnapped several Sith to unearth it for them.
Walking into a trap, the two Jedi discovered the events had been orchestrated by his uncle to uncover Kyssiri's plot to bring the Sith to heel, and remove Karai from the equation. Facing dire odds against superior numbers, the situation took a turn for the worst, when Alliance marines arrived planetside to repel the Remnant, and secure the artifact. In the ensuing firefight, nearly all of the Sith hostages were executed, and Karai was injured. Desperate, Suun saved her apprentice and lover, at the cost of her own life. Shot through the abdomen, Suun succumbed to her wound before help could arrive, leaving Karai heartbroken, and confused. He buried her body in the Great Temple above the artifact, and left in misery.
Now a young man, Karai returned to Tund, isolating himself in the mountains as a hermit, living off the land. Bitter and alone, Karai skirted dangerously close to the Dark Side, wallowing in his grief. Over the course of the next few months, he slowly opened himself to the Dark Side, and without the moderating tuition of his master, Karai began to poison himself through overuse of it. Nearly killing himself in his indulgences, Karai, now understanding how the Dark Side could afflict one unready, spent years in deep spiritual and physical training, to prepare his body and soul for the intense power the Dark Side granted. At the end of his intense training, Karai emerged from his mountain dwelling empowered, and convinced he had achieved a level of control of the Dark Side unlike any Sith before him. He returned to Khar Shian for his long-overdue pound of flesh. Murdering his uncle, he left the Stygian Caldera completely, in pursuit of power, determined to never let war or politics rob innocents of their loved ones.
He eventually came to New Bethrezen, home to the Obsidian Union, and the New Sith Brotherhood, a Sith faction into which he was inducted, Apprenticed to the Sith Lord Darth Marda, Karai himself was anointed Darth Exolus by the Sith Lady Vidia. Under Marda, Exolus became a powerful Sith Lord in his own right. During his time with the Brotherhood, Exolus would meet his half-brother, now going by the name of Darth Lucifer. The duo had a tense relationship, founded on jealousy. Exolus envied his brother's relatively normal life and success, while Lucifer envied the love his birth parents had given instead to his. The two attempted to set aside their differences, and were among those who fought against Vidia when she turned on the Brotherhood. Tragedy struck again, when Vidia's assault on Korriban razed the brothers' city of birth, claiming the lives of many of their kin, including Exolus' daughter, Arai. With most of his homeworld's hierarchy in chaos, Kyssiri at last, played her hand. The Sith looked to Clan Adas, seemingly unfazed by the attack, and through decades of political cajoling had Exolus named the new Sith'ari. Clouded by despair, Exolus challenged Vidia, and was taken prisoner, only to be liberated by his brother, who cut Vidia down, robbing Exolus of his vengeance. Exolus immediately neglected his duties to the Sith thereafter.
Unhappy with the decision the Sith peoples made, and concerned for his lack of rationale, Lucifer contested his brother's rule, forcing the two into a small conflict over the Sith leadership. Infuriated, Kyssiri attempted to drive a wedge between the two, attempting to murder Lucifer's lover, and blame Exolus. Discovering her intent, Exolus cut her down, ending her decades of scheming then and there. It was then that the Sith Clan Dramath struck, seizing the opportunity the chaos gave them. Unleashing the Sith spirit of the brothers' ancestor, Sekar Adas, to destroy them, and allow the Dramath to dominate the Stygians. With the assistance of two mysterious Force Users, the brothers united to destroy the Sith King's artificial body, and were graned co-leadership of the newly-formed Stygian Empire.
Unable to come to term with his losses, Exolus spent the next few months trying to distance the Stygians from the Union's war, while keeping the Clans in check. Tasked to the limit, he ventured to Khar Shian, to bring his father's Clan - the Kalligs, into the Empire, while seeking repentance for the murder of his uncle years prior. Having suffered from numerous pirates and raiders over the years, Exolus was instructed by the Kalligs to shut down the Rakatan artifact in the Great Temple that had brought the Remnant to them. Venturing into the depths, Exolus sensed a familiar presence in the frozen chambers. Amidst dozens of trapped Sith spirits, he encountered the tormented spirit of his lost love, Suun Jul, bound to the Temple like the many Sith spirits. Pleading to be free, and completely opposed to passing on to the Netherworld, Suun guided Exolus to the Rakatan artifact. The object turned out to be one of the many "Mother Machines", dotted around the galaxy to return the Force to the Rakata, who had lost it centuries ago. Explaining that the machine could rebuild one's physical self, Exolus recovered Suun's preserved corpse, and used the power of the machine to reunite her spirit with her body, rejuvinating it in the process. The two would return to the Sith stronghold of New Bethrezen, with an uncertain Suun questioning her Jedi beliefs. She reluctantly joined the Sith, and urged Exolus to spare any more of his people the same fate she had suffered. Vying for Sith independence, a failed attempt on his life was made. Now questioning the Brotherhood himself, Exolus expressed such concerns among the Sith, and was exiled to Malachor V indefinitely.
After weeks of incarceration, Exolus was freed by the new matriarch of Clan Kallig, his cousin Altria. She brought with her terrible news. Adas had assumed corporeal form again, claiming his old mummified body, and had set about brining the Sith people under his despotic rule once more. Conflicted, Exolus' prior belief that Adas was a champion of the Sith was shattered, and at last, the Sith could take no more. Clear in his convictions now, he ventured to Korriban, for a final showdown. Fit to put the terrible legacy his Clan had created, Exolus achieved a state of near-Oneness with the Force, and utterly obliterated Adas, sending his spirit spiralling back into Chaos. The Brotherhood investigated the conflict on Korriban, Darth Lucifer confronting his half-brother. Swayed by both the public opinion, and Exolus' renewed beliefs, the two finally set aside their differences, and returned to New Bethrezen as brothers, vowing to leave a much greater legacy in their wake. In spite of their one-time rivalry, Lucifer saw fit to relinquish complete control of the Stygians to Exolus and his chosen peers. He would later rekindle his relationship with Suun, fathering two more children, and achieved the status of Sith Master.
Personality:
Reasonably intelligent, Karai is a courteous, if at times an arrogant individual. Preferring non-violent resolution over conflict, Karai is not pacifistic in nature, and will indeed seek violent resolutions once other options have been exhausted. He holds firm that building mutual respect and trust form stronger relationships and loyalties than violence or fear. To this extent, he does not exert his dominance over those under his command, and readily accepts any suggestions or criticism from his soldiers. Driven to perfect his mastery of the Force, Karai is ever-seeking ways to improve his already considerably power. In this regard he is not different than any other typical Sith. He is also of the mind that the Sith Code is indeed superior to the Jedi Code, but does not take its near-fatalistic viewpoint literally, seeing it as a way to not only liberate one's self, but others as well.
In addition, he has come to terms with his relationship with the Force, and - not unlike a small handful of Force Sensitives in the past, draws fully upon both sides of the Force, elevating his considerable power. He holds firm that the Dark Side is not a corrupting malady by nature, but it does indeed overwhelm those he claims are neither mentally, nor physically prepared to tap into it. Likewise, he views the Light Side in the same way, and that it can easily blind those unprepared. In this sense, he perceives the Order of Sith Lords, and other heretical groups as "incomplete", and greatly praises the Brotherhood for its comprehensive knowledge of the Light, and its extensive usage among its members. Again, likewise, he does not consider the Jedi Order "whole", as they, in his words, stubbornly choose to view the Dark Side as all-corrupting.
Doting on his family greatly, they are a primary motivator for the Sith Warlord, willing him to fight a war for the sake of a future without endless conflict between light and dark, and those caught in between. Ultimately, he desires a galaxy whose fate is dictated not by the pitfalls of politics or the inevitable disagreements surrounding religion, but strong, decisive military force, unclouded by political ambition, or religious beliefs. Despite his own views, Karai does not doubt the effectiveness the intimidating aura a typical Sith Lord exudes, and will - when necessary - adopt a persona more befitting a Sith Warlord, if only to outwardly portray strength to his foes, and prevent him from looking like an easy target.

Contacts: Galactic Alliance (Office of Chief of State; Natasi Daala) [1] - An informant who works in the secretarial staff under the Chief of State. Said informant is privy to Daala's personal files, and deals with her day-to-day incoming and outgoing orders, barring those she delivers personally.
Influence: Corellian Engineering Corporation [3] - Exolus is currently a major shareholder in the Corellian shipwright, and has access to a significant portion of it's military surplus, in addition to any outdated vessels, or those in a state of disrepair.
Influence: Stygian Empire.[3] - The monarch of a small coalition of worlds within Sith Space, Exolus has considerable sway among his people, though both he, and the Moff Council must reach a unanimous agreement on any changes proposed.
Influence: Imperial Remnant (Bastion) [2] - Exolus has kept in contact with a handful of Moffs on Bastion, currently dissatisfied with the Remnant's current state of affairs. Some have pledged financial or military support to him, in exchange for political asylum on Stygian worlds. Together, they are attempting to broker an armistice between the Remnant and the Union with the eventual goal of uniting the two factions against Daala's Alliance.
Influence: Imperial Remnant (Yaga Minor) [2] - As per part of their agreement, Exolus has, and by extension the Union, been granted the use of the shipyards at Yaga Minor to repair and refit their vessels, as an additional safe haven.
Status: Rakatan Archipelago [2] - Flocking to the return of their last Predor, a number of Rakata, skilled in recreating pieces of their lost technology, that of the Infinite Empire, have, at Sao-Kai's behest, assisted SICON in constructing highly-advanced prototype technologies to outfit his soldiers with. Though they serve Exolus for now, it is to Sao-Kai that they have pledged their loyalty.
Sidekick: Sao-Kai.
The last living Rakatan Predor of the ancient Infinite Empire. A field general in the Lehon culture, the Predor Tsao'kai is an abnormally tall member of the Rakata species, standing at almost ten feet tall. Predors would wield the signature weapon of the Force Hounds, the archaic prototype of the Lightsaber - the Forcesaber. Due to his diminished connection to the Force, Kai has retired his lightclub-sized Forcesaber for a modern recreation of the lightsaber, a Tapani Lightfoil. Crafted from his own design, Kai now carries this massive two-handed weapon in combat. known as Sao-Kai in the Esstran culture of Korriban, Kai was among the Rakata who invaded the Sith homeworld only to be defeated by Sekar Adas. Ingrained into the religious history of the Sith, Sao-Kai was feared as a sky demon, and many modern Sith revile the still-living Predor. Forced into the service of Sekar's descendant - Darth Exolus, Kai serves as the Sith Warlord's personal enforcer as much as a trophy. Gruff, blunt and outright dismissive of Exolus' allies, Tsao'kai feels there is a sliver of respect between him and Exolus, the two having lived with the shadow of Adas upon them.
Ultimately, Sao-Kai desires two things. The first, is his freedom, something that he categorically states must be taken by his own hands, and not given. The second, is the unification of the Rakatan Archipelago, to bring about the return of the old conquerors, as Sao-Kai, true to the old Rakatan adage, states that, "By definition, the Infinite Empire cannot 'fall'."

Equipment:
Exolus' go-to weapon is the lesser-seen saberstaff, which the Sith Lord wields with considerable skill. Actually paired lightsabers, Exolus prefers keeping the hilts joined, yet can easily adapt the two lightsabers in the Jar'Kai style, as befitting Niman's flexibility. A durasteel-plastic composite makes up the casing of the weapons, featuring vulcanized rubber for comfortable handgrips. Welded to the inner casing, is a lattice of relatively inexpensive songsteel, protecting the vital parts of the lightsaber from opposing saber blades, The entire inner case, save for the emitter shroud has been treated with the same energy-dispersing resin that coats the APAH, providing an extra layer of protection against surges.
Utilizing a blood-red, and exceedingly rare Qixoni crystal for primary focusing power, the weapon channels through a secondary crystal, before it is refined through a common viridian green-colored Kyber Crystal found galaxy-wide.
Exolus' primary reserve lightsaber belonged to him in his early Jedi training under Suun Jul. Created from basic parts and a basic design, the lightsaber has recently been improved upon, replacing the synthetic yellow crystal with an abundantly common Kasha Crystal from his homeworld. The weapon itself remains basic in form, and serves only as a comfortable replacement in dire need.
Exolus' third, and lesser-used lightsaber is, by modern standards, an antique. A trinket from his father's family, the Scorching Saber of Kallig belonged to Exolus paternal ancestor, the Sith Lord Aloysius Kallig. It passed down to Aloysius' eventual descendant, Elois Kallig, the future Darth Nox. The saber would continue to serve as a decorative heirloom of Clan Kallig until it was passed to Exolus by his grandmother.
The weapon, again, is a crude representation of a curved-hilt lightsaber, featuring two exposed wires, allowing for Force Lightning to be channeled into the matrix, allowing for an electrified plasma field. Elegant for its time, the weapon is heavy, tarnished and clumsy for a Makashi practitioner to use. It shows signs of centuries of repair work, to keep the hilt as pristine as can be allowed. The only truly original feature of the lightsaber, is a deep red Ilum Crystal, harvested by Kallig during construction.
A99 Aquata-breather: A standard oxygen-nitrogen mix re-breather mask capable of operating in most atmospheres and considerable fathoms of water.
Monofilament cable launcher: A grappling hook device with a small reservoir of liquid capable of launching a monofilament cable that solidifies when exposed to most standard atmospheres.
Secure-A3 Comlink: A personal multi-frequency communications device with a range limited to 500km operating under various encoded broad-band frequencies.
Imagecaster: A small personal holoprojector capable of projecting a three-dimensional audiovisual representation of a person on a quasi-realtime communication.
DCs-15 sidearm blaster pistol: A heavy blaster pistol with a slowly recharging power cell, providing unlimited ammunition relative to the power cell's life span.
Standard issue survival kit: Several pouches containing protein-enhanced nutrients, chemical glowrobs, a small combat knife and a miniature toolkit for lightsaber repairs.
Tyrant's Splinter: A Rank 3 Artifact that allows Exolus to manifest Level 3 Force Harm via the self-infliction of small wounds. It is a a small shard of volcanic glass from a glass body used by Adas as a vessel.
