Ares could not help but feel a small degree of satisfaction at the stunned silence with which his sudden departure was met. The interconnectedness of the Killik racial-mind meant that the Miralukan had set a new personal record for number of individuals left dumbfounded by one of his actions. But, as distance and time began to separate him from the experience, he was left with gnawing worries. Though they weren't so far gone as to attack him during his departure from the system, the Jedi that were allied with the Killiks had clearly undergone some sort of disturbing change. The Sith Lord had seen it now in varying degrees among several Jedi. And he had seen what it might result in when he faced Alema. Again, he wondered about the Chiss and Ratataki he had briefly glimpsed down on Qoribu. If the Jedi had seemingly fallen under the sway of whatever this UnuThul was then it stood to reason that others might have been similarly assimilated into the Killiks' collective consciousness.
Could the Chiss know this already? If they did then that would offer additional explanation as to why the Chiss feared the growth of the Colony so much. But why wouldn't they have mentioned that fact to Ares? What possible motive could they hold to conceal the nature of the threat? Not for the first time, the Sith Lord bemoaned the fact that the secrecy of the Union's ostensible allies was potentially his biggest obstacle. Between Chiss insularity and Killik intractability all hopes of avoiding what was bound to be a costly war had been crushed.
((OOC: Ok, lad and lass, that was a hell of a Mission, you both did fine work. The page total for the Mission is 18 but I'm gonna be a nice guy and bump that up to 20 for the purposes of standard reward point. This will give a total of four points to split between you both. I'm going to give three to Arie and one to Ares (since he'll be cashing in his banked levels now). @ Arie: these are points that can be spent on Skills, Perks, Combat Proficiencies and/or Force Powers.
Beyond the standard rewards for page count, I'm granting Arie a level (at Ares' recommendation) and I'm going to give Ares a Rank in the Intimidate Skill.))
