Assets are Ranked Traits that represent special advantages a character cultivated prior to entering this site’s story line. All characters receive seven Asset Points at character creation; these points can either be spent on one of the Assets listed below or up to three of these points may be spent on Combat Proficiencies, Skills, Force Powers and Perks. Spend your Asset Points wisely for, through you may gain or even lose points in Assets as the result of Missions, most characters will never again be able to purchase Assets with points after character creation.
Fame/Infamy: Whether for good or ill, your character’s name is in the Galaxy’s public consciousness. This Asset can open doors for a character but can sometimes also lead to unpleasant situations involving obsessed fans or angry mobs. The number of Ranks possessed in this Asset represents the extent of the character’s celebrity as shown below:
Status: This Asset represents your power and influence in an organization other than the New Sith Brotherhood. Which organization is chosen at character creation and cannot be changed later on. The number of Ranks you possess affects your Status as described below:
Resources: Credits, moola, cash, dinero, money, that’s what this Asset’s all about. The Resources Asset represents regular income a character receives from some source. Characters who lack this Asset don’t necessarily lack cash but they do lack regular, guaranteed income.
Alternate Identity: This Asset represents an alias used by the character and the extent of its authenticity; the more Ranks possessed in this Asset the more convincing the alias. You must select what government or organization by which your alias is supposedly recognized. This may not be an organization in which you possess the Status Asset unless your alias is the one with the Status instead of you. Furthermore, the maximum number of Ranks you may take in this Asset is equal to three minus the number of Ranks you possess in the Fame Asset. So a character with no Ranks in Fame may purchase up to four in Alternate Identity while a character with four in Fame may purchase none in Alternate Identity. As before, this restriction only applies if your true identity, and not your alias, possesses Ranks in Fame.
Unnatural Ability: You can do something peculiar, that most beings can't usually do. Maybe you have cybernetic abilities that let you discharge lightning from your fists, maybe you were born with fangs, or maybe you always know when somebody is looking at you. Whatever the cause and whatever the effect, these abilities are always useful and manifest frequently in the Sith. After all, the dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be...unnatural. The rules for this Asset are extremely flexible; work with a moderator to determine the scope of your ability and what rank is most appropriate.
Exotic Item: Rare, valuable, or strange items thread their way through the galaxy, and this Asset places one in your possession. This is a flexible, wide-scope Asset that covers any sort of item or object that falls outside of normal categories; while rough guidelines are provided below, work with a moderator to determine the Rank of your item. Exotic Items may overlap with the Artifact Asset if ranks in both Assets are purchased.
Companion: You've earned the service of another highly skilled and capable being. Maybe they're an old friend or maybe you saved their life, but whatever the cause they're devoted to you and determined and able to help. Each Companion is different, and your Ranks in this Asset determine the level of this companion and how skilled they are; when not explicitly stated otherwise, Companions follow the normal rules for player character creation, abilities, and progression. However, they cannot receive session rewards and any XP that they receive is considered 'lost' to the players in that session. Lastly, Companions may never receive any Asset points beyond the 7 granted at Character Creation.
Artifact: The Artifact Asset represents possession of an item of power that can channel the Force. Your Artifact can manifest a single Apprentice Force Power (chosen at its creation) a number of times per mission equal to your Ranks in the Asset. The Rank of this Force Power is equal to the Artifact's Ranks. An Artifact may be a weapon if you so choose, however, it cannot channel its Force Power into its attacks unless it is later altered by Sith Alchemy to do so.
