Name: Telon Walon
Sith Name: Darth Bestias
Title(s): Lord of Beasts
Age:30
Species: Ithorian
Homeworld: Ithor
Gender: Male
Height: 5'11
Weight: 190
Eyes: Black
Hair: None
Skin Color: Dark Red
Affiliations: Obsidian Union
Appearance: Like all Ithorians, Bestias had the distinctive T-shaped head and wide spaced eyes commonly associated with his species along with the dual mouths on the sides of his wide, flat neck. His eyes were a deep black and his skin was one of the darker shades of red among the Ithorians. His skin, due to a lifetime of banishment and rough living, was marked and scored with all manner of scars (many of them a result of various wildlife) and he bore them proudly as marks of survival. Unlike most Ithorians, he was also extremely fit, his muscles toned from a lifetime spent among the streets, the harsh terrain of several different planets and, later, the criminal organization Black Sun.
Personality: Bestias has a quiet nature, usually content to just observe unless the situation directly involves him in some way. He greatly values information and has come to understand the importance of it as a result of his harsh upbringing. Like most Ithorians, he is at home in, and has a strong affinity for, nature. He, however, sees it quite differently than his brethren. While most worshiped nature, Bestias instead thinks of nature as being in tune with the dark side due to its ruthlessness. Disasters, kill or be killed, the survival of the fittest. Whatever you want to call it, Bestias believes that this embodies the dark side of the force perfectly. The weak perish and the strong survive. Even though Bestias can be quiet, he is quick to anger if sufficiently riled up and prone to outbursts. He is also fascinated with biology and the creation of Sithspawn.
Demeanor: Scientist
Nature: Conniver
Major Goal: To eventually reach Sith Alchemist status and gain access to some of the most unique and powerful skills, perks, and Sith creations.
Minor Goal: To be able to control a wide variety of creatures, eventually being able to take them into battle with him and take one as a constant companion, as well as amassing a wide variety of Sith artifacts useful for Sith Alchemy.
Languages: Ithorian and Basic
Speaks, reads and writes Ithorian, Basic and Sithese (Intelligence bonus)
Backstory:
Life On Ithor:
Born on one of the floating herdships of Ithor, he'd been born with the name Telon. Like most newborn Ithorians, he started life as a limbless pupa, one of thousands in his family. As such, he was distant from his parents, eventually forgetting them entirely by the time he struck out on his own. Once he developed fully he began to feel something was off about him. He wasn't nearly as docile as the rest of the Ithorians on the herdship, and was prone to fits of rage that only intensified as he dealt with the mundane life on the city-sized ship. He grew restless day by day, the endless lectures about revering nature leaving him bored and irritated. He felt that there was something fundamentally wrong about the others' worship of the jungles on their home planet, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Eventually he couldn't stand it any longer, his curiosity overwhelmed him as he wondered why his species had such reverence for the jungles of Ithor. One night he snuck out of his quarters, commandeered a shuttle and used it to travel down to the surface of the planet. He could almost feel the planet teeming with life when he arrived, although he felt something off about that sensation. One night after he had settled down for the night and built a fire, he drifted to sleep, leaving it unattended. He woke to telepathic screams of anguish and, when he opened his eyes, he witnesses several of the semi-intelligent Bafforr trees engulfed in flame. He had never witnessed death personally before, and as the trees burned something clicked into place. He realized that nature was death, and his species' worship of the jungle was misplaced. Death was the end of the journey. It was inescapable, and the whole purpose of life was to end. He realized that true power didn't like in peaceful platitudes and serenity, rather in chaos and death, where the weak were culled and those who survived were made more powerful simply by their survival, proving themselves to be more fit for life. He now knew that was nature boiled down to it's essence. All nature was meant to end, and that end provided life to others. As he started the journey back, he mused on those revelations, the pull of the burning jungle and the presence of the suffering life therein growing stronger in his mind. As he approached the herdship, however, security forces attempted to arrest him for the crime of killing a large number of the semi-sentient trees. He was forced to flee Ithor in exile.
Life In Exile:
After fleeing his homeworld he began bouncing from planet to planet, initially nothing more than a slum dweller. Patient and observant, he taught himself how to steal, how to trick others and how to avoid being caught doing so. His species helped, and almost nobody suspected him for any of the thefts or other cons he pulled. He seemed to be drawn to the dark and dangerous corners of the planets he visited, and the more dangerous the better. He began to bask in the suffering around him, almost able to feel the ebb and flow of power, of life and death, around him. From Nar Shaddaa to the slums of Coruscant. It was on Jedha that he was first introduced to the concept of the Force itself, although at the time he brushed it aside as mere superstition, like so many others before him. He had stolen a so-called holy text from one of the Guardians of the Whills, and he was captivated by the descriptions held within it. He even went so far as to seek out more relics or texts pertaining to the Force. He was only successful on a couple of occasions, but he had realized as a result that the echoes of life and death he had felt for so long were actually manifestations of the Force. He made a decision to leave the densely populated worlds he had traveled behind after one of the texts mentioned the creation of life in the form of monsters cobbled together and modified through the use of the Force. He began to wonder how far one could push that limit and resolved to spend years among the most dangerous wildlife he could find. He spent time on Kashyyyk, Onderon, Felucia, and Dathomir among others, and on each planet he sought to learn as much of it's native life as he could. The struggle between life and death in it's purest form was strong on these worlds, and it seemed like every second he spent surrounded by that eternal natural struggle increased his sensitivity to it. It was on Korriban that he found his first real step on his journey, however.
Discovery On Korriban And Contact With The Obsidian Union:
At each world he visited, he could feel his connection with the Force growing deeper and deeper, eventually leading him to pursue increasingly dangerous artifacts and goals. Following his instinct, he eventually made his way toward the ancient Sith homeworld of Korriban. He had, little by little, prepared himself for this expedition due to his time on other worlds, each of them more saturated by the Dark Side than the last. He eventually found his way toward that desolate planet, and at first it seemed like the antithesis of every planet he had spent time on up until that point. Dry, seemingly lifeless and barren, it took Saraas some time to adjust to a world seemingly devoid of plant life. He would learn that this place was far from lifeless, however. He endured Shyracks, K'lor'slugs, Terentateks and other unique creatures. He barely escaped with his life when he first encountered one of these creatures, but he learned to be patient and cautious, his observant nature giving him an edge in dealing with them. He slowly began to explore the world, the pull of the Dark Side inexorably leading him toward a location he had only read about: the Valley of the Dark Lords. He didn't know the names of any of the tombs he snuck through, and in most he only found dust, the treasures and relics held within long ago looted by other like minded individuals. When he did stumble upon something worthwhile....quite literally....he dismissed it as mere coincidence. After making his way back through a tomb which had been, curiously, erected off to the side of the collection of ancient tombs, he noticed something strange. This tomb felt and looked much newer than the rest which dotted Korriban's landscape. The dust wasn't quite as thick, and everything seemed a bit more modern. That fact didn't make it any safer, he realized, when he felt a crack in the floor giving way beneath him. He attempted to scramble to safety but was unsuccessful, falling through the floor of the chamber and winding up in a dark, forgotten part of the tomb. Upon activating his light, he was greeted with an empty space, save for one item, placed on a pedestal in the middle of the room. Approaching curiously, he slowly crept up toward what appeared to be a thick datapad placed upon the stand. As he reached out to take the book, something feeling like a bolt of invisible electricity jolted through him, knocking him to the floor as he blacked out. As he lay there, various visions of Sith created horrors flooded his mind. He witnessed various Sith worlds, flashes through multiple archaic rituals, and looked on as several different creations were brought to life before him. As he slowly regained his consciousness, he thought he heard a cackling laugh, along with someone speaking the words "The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural." As quickly as he heard it, the words were gone, leaving his head reeling from the sheer weight of the visions he had seen. Approaching a bit more cautiously this time, he was able to actually lift the datapad. As he looked at the title, he realized he had found something priceless...a collection of Palpatine's thoughts entitled "The Creation of Monsters". The realization struck him then, and he knew whose tomb he had stumbled into. It was one of several around the galaxy dedicated to none other than Emperor Palpatine. Tucking the datapad into his clothes, he quickly scaled his way out of the room, backtracking until he, at last, emerged from the tomb. As he gazed out at the landscape, he noticed something had changed. Several unknown craft where descending toward his location, no doubt drawn to him as a result of his discovery of Palpatine's texts. He would later learn that these ships belonged to an organization called the Obsidian Union...an organization he would come to call home.
