Height: 1.88 m

Appearance: Atypical for his scholarly caste, Darth Strigus is massive, with a sculpted physique. The bone spurs branching from his brow keep close to his skull, and his cheek tendrils do not run far beyond his jaw. Despite seeming very practical and often dressing in simple, mobile clothing, a hidden vanity is hinted at by careful grooming and a few intricate adornments, especially the clasps perpetually on his tendrils.
Personality: Outwardly, Strigus appears stoic, dignified and professional. This conduct developed, however, largely as a survival mechanism for his years in the Pit of Aduba-4, and is sometimes belied by a quiet snarkiness. Deeper down, he follows a philosophy loosely pieced together from the memories of his tutelage on Korriban before his capture, desiring to be immersed in sensation and to actively cultivate and satisfy passions as they arrive. His behavior can therefore seem very erratic, going from detached and calm to suddenly obsessed with little apparent reason. Though this seems off-putting to some, others are captivated by what they find spontaneous and exciting behavior.
He is proud, which often turns to arrogance, as he believes himself superior for a variety of reasons, his time as a slave having done little to moderate him. He has a rich heritage, being the child of two prominent members of the ruling caste of the Sith species. He also survived trials in the Pit that would have destroyed weaker men. Furthermore, the theatrics and praise he received as a gladiator only served to inflate his pride- though he learned how to temper himself as needed to avoid the lash.
Strigus has a deep interest in things relating to his past or his heritage, with some of his most prized possessions being a pair of old books and his father's old tendril clasps. He also has a general lust for knowledge, hoping to find mastery of himself through a branching assortment of skills, with a special focus on his race's three primary areas of interest- Warfare, Faith, and the Force.

Backstory: Born on Korriban to well-established clan, Jyrric was selected at a young age to pursue Sith alchemy, and thus had an intensive education. In addition to his tutors, his parents would sometimes bring him on diplomatic missions, giving him a wider knowledge of the galaxy, provided he continued his studies while they traveled. When he was 12, and en route to one such mission, his vessel has overrun by a band of pirates. His mother, fending off the attackers with the force, was gunned down in the conflict, but he and his father where taken prisoner and brought to the remote planet of Aduba-4.
Sold there into slavery to the Ithorian warlord Aawim, both wound up as gladiators in The Pit, the primary entertainment for the Ithorian's people. Jyrric's father remained calm through the situation, encouraging his son to continue his studies from the two damaged books the boy had managed to retain for when they returned to Korriban. Though he told his son their disappearance would be noticed and a rescue would be arranged, he reasoned that this was probably some underhanded political scheme of one of his enemies, and felt little hope.
Within the first month, Jyrric's father was killed by a Trandoshan named Hagan, a gladiator who was a long-time veteran of the Pit. The same day his father went up against Hagan, Jyrric was expected to be killed in a fight with an adult Zabrak, but despite only being 12 managed to win, gaining him a reputation with the public. Feeling guilty about leaving a child an orphan, Hagan apologized to Jyrric, and gave him his father's tendril clasps. Shortly thereafter, Hagan became something of a surrogate father to him, teaching him how to fight. Jyrric coupled these lessons with subtle uses of the force, which caused his reputation to continually grow, until he became a crowd favorite in the eight long years he served as a gladiator.
Eventually, however, opportunity arose when a member of the New Sith Brotherhood visited Aawim to establish a trade agreement. While enjoying a gladiator match, the Sith saw Jyrric and sensed his abilities with the force. Though the Sith tried to procure Jyrric's freedom, the gladiator's popularity made him an asset which the Ithorian couldn't part with. As such, the Sith instead arranged for a breakout, allowing Jyrric, Hagan, and several others to escape. Though the Ithorian suspected the Sith to be responsible, he couldn't prove it, and had no desire to anger an organization with such a bloody status. The trade dealings soon finished, and the Sith brought Jyrric and Hagan to the Brotherhood, dropping off the other escapees at various points along the way, at Jyrric's insistance.

Fame 1: The Aduban Liberator
Strigus has a firm and now semi-mythical reputation as a skilled gladiator who led a successful rebellion, making him a source of hope for fellow slaves. He is known to those who visited the Ithorian Warlord Aawim on Aduba-4, those who patronized the Pit, slaves on Aduba-4, and the odd scholar of trivia.
Fame 1: Duelist Champion
After taking part in a tournament with other apprentices in the New Sith Brotherhood, Strigus emerged as the victor. He now holds a reputation as an accomplished warrior among the people of New Bethrezen, particularly the Sith apprentices who watched and gambled on the tournament.
Unusual Ability 1: Improved Danger Sense
Whether due to routine assassination attempts since infancy due to Sith politics, being kidnapped by pirates as a child, or being raised as a slave fighter routinely placed in life-or-death trials for the entertainment of others, Strigus has a knack for being suddenly aware of danger. His Danger Sense is heightened, granting him a +1 bonus to the Awareness skill.
Unusual Ability 2: Saber's Bane
Holocrons contain many forgotten secrets, which often include obscure fighting styles. By learning from Hezzoran's Holocron and reliving the memories of the late Sith Lord stored within, Strigus became versed in the Saber's Bane technique. When in unarmed combat against a single opponent wielding a lightsaber, his Martial Arts perks are considered to be one rank more effective than normal.
