As the B-Wings passed over the base, they were, as Ceryn had expected, largely unperturbed by the anti-air fire. Of notable exception to this trend was her own application of turret shots. What the Sith lacked in experience with turrets she more than made up for with her exceptionally honed extrasensory perceptions. Her blasts hit exactly where she'd intended, causing one squad leader's torpedoes to erupt within the very mouth of its launcher. The B-Wing went down in a fiery wreck, and the others in its squadron suddenly found themselves off-guard as a result; they scrambled to reform. The other two squads, however, were not being slowed down much and their munitions rained on the mighty guns of CITADEL and on the walkers seeking to defend those guns.
From his vantage point, Exolus could infer how the defense of CITADEL was going. He saw the heavy streams of fire ascending from the surface to pound the enemy fleet become inconstant and sputtering. Suffering the explosive bombardment of the B-Wings, the massive weapon emplacements had to fire selectively, lest a torpedo strike at an inopportune moment of energy build-up and trigger a reaction that would set off Exolus' trap prematurely. As a result, the shield-wall formation of the enemy fleet was holding up far better than the Sith Warlord would have preferred. His Battle Meditation kept his fighter screen vigorous but he knew he'd need more.
"Breet-boop-beep-bop," Bucket affirmed as he began to collect the data Tetrarch needed. These A-Wings were fast and maneuverable but, with the aid of his droid companion and the Force, Tetrarch planned to overcome that advantage. And, indeed, his first efforts were met with success when the lead A-Wing he had targeted failed to escape the rapid barrage of shots. Though the firepower had been reduced for rate of fire, an A-Wing's primary defense is its speed, not sturdiness, and it was torn apart by Tetrarch's lasers. These A-Wing pilots, however, were not so easily disoriented by the loss of a squad leader as where their B-Wing counterparts planetside. They continued fighting normally despite the loss.
